This is one of my favorite types of pieces. store I have sold many throughout the years. This one happens to be one of the cleanest and prettiest. One thing that stands out for me is the thick beveled glass. I don't particularly love the ones that are covered in metalwork known as Ormolu. I do love that only 2 windows block the light.

Look at the front pictures to see the depth of the beveled windows. I love that thickness.
This way of protecting your loved trinkets started in France in the early 1760's.
The “Neoclassical” style produced ormolu vases and perfume burners. It was used in making furniture and very detailed clocks. So this type of metalwork has been around for many years. I just wish they wouldn't adorn this beautiful glass so much.

Getting back to this beautiful piece, it has a brightly colored, clean carpet that remains unstained and very clean. That can be changed out by pushing the bottom up and covering that square with your choice of color or print
The metalwork (Ormolu) goes right up to where the glass is beveled. This piece remains as one of my favorites since the ormolu only covers two of the six windows. And those windows are what makes this piece one of my favorites and maybe yours.
