Bold vintage gold colored art deco style cicada brooch by Marion Godart Paris. It features a well designed abstract styled shiny golden cicada, material is supposed to be resin but feels hard like glass or porcelain. Brooch measures 3 1/4" x 1 1/4", material is 3/8" thick. Weight is 1 1/8 oz (31 gram) Really old stock, never been worn. Fine vintage condition, some light scratches and loss of gold paint due to storage.
Cicada are known to bring luck store and long-life.

Marion Godart is a well known French jewelry designer from Paris working with Resin, Lucite and Bakelite since the 1960's. She is known for her brightly colored quirky, yet chic costume jewelry. Inspired by artistic trends of the beginning of twentieth century, her creativity plays with shapes, materials and ethnic influences and color always forms the frame. A pop and unconventional style that gives all pieces joy and dynamism! Marion Godart does not sign her work, but her pieces cannot be mistaken.
