ITEM RESERVED FOR CL - This is a beautiful antique French Paroissien Romain, No. 1, written in French and Latin, dated 1875. Printed by Barbou Freres de Limoges and approved by the Bishop of Limoges on 5 September 1849. Beautiful and rarely seen red and gold edged pages with floral design.
Bound in beautifully dark embossed brown leather, with a brass framework around the edge of the front and back cover. It has a lovely spine impressed with the word "paroissien' and an ornate religious brass hinged closure. It has 800 pages including the index. It would make a lovely first communion gift and a very nice spiritual 'companion' to adorn any home. Very collectible. Lovely pocket size, so perfect for traveling. CONDITION
it is in a lovely antique condition with plenty of light brownish discoloration spots throughout (foxing) commensurate with age. Some wear to the back page leather corners.
