ABOUT CAT'S EYE STONES:

Cat's Eye appear to have a different color on each side of the cat's eye line when illuminated when viewed. It gives the illusion that the stone is made of two different materials, a light material on one side and a darker material on the other. This is called the "milk and honey" effect, also known as chatoyancy.

The chatoyancy can be found in many types of stones, but if the catseye is used to describe the stone alone, it usually refers to the mineral Chrysoberyl. Cats Eye chrysoberyl is also called cymophane. Many cats eye stones are found nearly colorless or fall into the brown/yellow to green color range.
