A Great idea for Mother's Day! Each of the jars in this set comes with a jar rubber and the appropriate lid. I've seen the proper lid and rubber on each of these jars selling for as much as $10.00 apiece. (That's nearly 50% of the price for the entire set!) We've been doing some Estate Work lately, which has enabled us to gather these antique jar sets. Don't let this wonderful opportunity slip through your fingers.
HISTORY: The Ball Bros. Corporation acquired the rights to their famous "Perfect Mason" trademark when they bought the Greenfield Fruit Jar and Bottle Company in 1909. (Greenfield had produced the Boyd version of a Perfect Mason prior to the merger.) Ball Bros. continued producing the jar for so long that even today the name is instantly associated with Ball. It's said that the large half-gallon jar, like the one included with this set, was very popular and widely used by Bootleggers store during the Prohibition era.
