My story...
I am a splendid, rare to source edition of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë. I am not dated but research shows that I was published in a set around 1907 by The Gresham Publishing Company Ltd. for their series called, ‘The Book Lover's Edition.'
My binding, art nouveau decoration and printed endpapers were designed by none other than Talwin Morris.
Talwin Morris (Born: 14 June 1865 - Died: 29 March 1911) was a book designer and artist working in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Practicalities:
-I measure H 20cm x W 13.5cm
-I have 392 pages.
-I weigh 429g.

Condition Summary:
I am in a highly respectable condition for my 114 years of age being in a very good plus condition generally, with only mild signs of age and use. For specific condition points see below.

Why buy me?
My art nouveau inspired, gold gilt decorated spine will send shivers down your spine with its unspoilt, beauty - won't I just look absolutely stunning on your book shelf? I will positively beam and sparkle for you - make you smile!
All this on a sea of deep red, soft to the touch leather which I invite you to dive into and enjoy!
Before you do so notice the floral, art nouveau pattern embellished again on my front cover along with the words, ‘The Book Lover's Edition.' I ask you also to admire my text block/page edges ornamented with gilt - so elegant!
As you open up the treasure chest that is me you will see a more subdued version of the floral pattern again repeated on my endpapers - again in excellent condition at both end with the gutters between the pages still intact.
Turn the pages and discover a flattering frontispiece illustration of my esteemed author covered with a guard which has a brief biography written on it. Underneath this also lies my main title page printed in a classic red and black font. It states that there are seven full page illustrations; after a contents page you will find a list of them all.
They are all actually photographs obtained specially for this work by John James of Heckmondwike (a village not too far from Haworth). They are of significant architecture, places and people relating to Ann Bronte, for example, Martha Brown, the old Brontë servant, the grave of Anne Brontë, the view on Haworth Moor and Blake Hall where Anne was once a governess. Do look at some of the photograph examples.
Throughout the novels the photos are placed with an extra fine paper plate over them with the history and relevance of the illustration.
You will find my reading pages in a generally clean and respectable state - they certainly have ridden the waves of time well for a book of my age! You will notice that they are slightly rough cut as was the practice of many books published in this era and there are occasional age marks but none significant.
My binding is indeed excellent - robust and strong with suppleness and flexibility - a winning combination.
I must say it again, I really am very lovely indeed - oh I haven't - well I am, literally oozing with vintage loveliness am I!
Oh, and because she was hiding so well I nearly forgot to mention my sweet, ivory, silk ribbon bookmark, which is still attached to me after all these years! She must love me so…sigh …book life is good!

As I am around 114 years old I will have some signs of age and use:

Leather cover: gently worn at the spine ends; corners rolled; the red leather covers are lightly rubbed. You would look at my book and think I am in a very, very good condition for my age externally.
Page edges: top gold gilt edge is mildly rubbed and scratched but still has a gleam to it; the other edges are moderately foxed.
Endpapers: in a very good condition with only faint, tiny foxing marks apparent along the top edge and in the guttering slightly at the rear; the gutters are intact with no inscriptions.
Reading pages: the pages generally are in a remarkable condition. The foxing from the page edges is often seen on the extreme store reading page edges and you will find occasional faint fox or age marks on the main reading pages more so at the beginning of the book (see photos).
My pages are rough cut and a few of the immediate bottom page corner tips are slightly worn, but really that is very insignificant and barely noticeable due to my rough cut nature. Other page corners tips are gently rolled. If you find other signs of age or wear in my book they will be slight and rare.
The binding of my book is excellent and now I am blushing! They must be why my covers were made deep red!

Please look at the pictures carefully. More can be sent on request.

A note from my seller:
A really, unique, highly collectible edition - rare to find especially in this condition. It was nearly a keeper for my collection but us booksellers have to learn to let books go to new, happy homes!

I will be sent Royal Mail special delivery in the UK and Royal Mail International, tracked worldwide. Please message me for worldwide postage costs if not displayed.

I will be packed in recycled, biodegrable packaging where possible.
