Our Tamarind wood bowls are hand turned and or carved utilizing off cut stump and root sections from Tamarind trees that are left over from our larger furniture projects. Being that Tamarind is a natural material, each piece is unique in its form and grain structure, natural variations such as knots, holes, and or cracks may be found. Each bowl is finished by hand with Tung Oil which helps maintain and enhance the natural beauty of the wood. We have finished the inside of the bowl using the Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban which is the process of torching and blackening the wood. This process not only gives the wood a beautiful black tone, but also helps to preserve the wood. store
