"Lovers/דודים" Brooch, 3" x 1 1/2", turquoise, vermeil, hemp, freshwater pearls, copper
This line was created twenty-three years ago, and these one-of-a-kind pieces have lasted in perfect condition since then. It emerged from my observation that sumi-brushed Chinese calligraphy reminded me of Hebrew. I'm a working cantor for the High Holidays and love discovering deeper meanings and practical applications of prayer.
The prayer is "Ki Kishimcho" from the Jewish New Year "Unitane Tokef" prayer, which says that the Creator is always waiting for us to reverse our course and live a joyous life.
