store This is a gorgeous blue and white salt glaze Pitcher. It has a printed Dutch scene of two figures and a town in the distance. The Pitcher is probably between 150 and 200 years old. Salt glaze was achieved by throwing warm table salt into a kiln at peak temperatures which would vaporize over the stacked forms and make a shiny transparent glaze.

Please look at photos closely - we don't want you to be disappointed!
Antique and vintage stoneware items are not new and may show their age imperfections such as wear, pitting in the pottery, hairline fractures, chips/nicks and some crazing. Occasionally you might notice restorations, replacement parts and/or repairs. Due to the processing at the time that these were made, you might notice imperfections in the glazing or the pieces themselves. This was not uncommon and is typical of these old stoneware pieces. We make every effort to accurately represent each item through our photographs.
