Antique-Rare-Ottoman/Mughal-Silver Mounted/Gouache store Painted Miniature Picture Panel Hat Pin-circa 1840
store Antique Early/Mid 19th Century Rare Mughal / Ottoman Silver Mounted, Hand Painted Gouache Plaque mounted to a steel shank so as to be worn as a hat pin.
In very good condition for age, the terminal/plaque to the hat pin features a traditional hand painted image in Gouache showing that of a Mounted Rider meeting a gate keeper outside a palace grounds, within the distance is a lone, leafy tree leading to a wilderness.
The hat pin terminal as noted is mounted in silver and measures 2.7 cm x 2.3 cm, the plaque is gently curved to the face and has a depth in the setting of roughly 4 mm.
Total length of the hat pin is 16.5 cm, no makers marks are present or otherwise, the item being artisan manufactured, the painted plaque was likely part of a panel bracelet or similar of the period, converted at a later date into a wearable hat Pin, possbily brought back to England as a collectible souvenir piece found when on grand tour in South East Asia.
