Portion of an store Antique Chinese Temple Carving 14.5" x 5.75"

This portion of an antique temple carving is in two pieces. The base is 5.75" wide and the thickness at the top of the piece is 2.25" decling to .25" at the base suggesting that it could store have been part of a cornice moulding. The decorative piece that overlies this base has split off but can be reattached. It measures about 12" x 4", and it appears the décor in the center used to be a bird but most of its body and head are missing. It has two hanger devices mounted on the back. The base is all one piece and has been carved to size. It is decorated with dark red paint and gilt. Weight is 2lbs 13 ounces. Etsy will estimate mailing cost. Domestic purchasers only.
