Store Vintage Dunlap Camping/Outdoor Hatchet

Dunlap was a Sears brand hatchet back in the day.

I acquired this hatchet and wanted to try a different look for the head. So as you can see, I sanded, grinded and polished half of the head. The other half was simply sanded, cleaned and cold blue was applied.

The existing handle was store reused. I sanded it down, wood burned, then rubbed with boiled linseed oil (BLO). Afterwards I rubbed the handle with citrus wax. I did not apply any clear coat enamel on this one.

Hung with a cherry wedge.

This hatchet is lightweight and could easily be carried around while out hiking or camping. Perfect for cutting some kindling for a fire.
