This MosaicOnStone represent a Blue Jay Bird.
I use local stone from Lake Ontario as a base. The mosaic is constructed using stained glass cut to size then glued with Thin-Set on a small stone. It is grouted with Ultracolor Plus FA. The combination of Thin-Set and Ultracoloe Plus FA makes the mosaic very resistant to water and might be let in flower garden an entire summer.
Size about 3.5 by 4 inches (Mosaic), stone 1 inch deep deep, about 1/2 a pound.
MosaicOnStone are rather unique decoration, due to weight I limit the size of store the stone to about a hand size, the small size of the mosaic requires to reduce details and requires more attention to the shape and size of the tessarea.
I take part at the local Farmer's Market and the mosaic are very welcome I am sure any one would find this mosaic a valuable addition to flower garden or home.
