Settle down with a friend and drink some store darjeeling out of these beautifully-made "corset" shaped cups with loop handles and then select a treat from the matching plate.
Everything is made by the venerable company, Aynsley: a yellow cup and saucer set with matching dessert plate and a blue cup and saucer set. The fun part of this grouping is the cups in the matching corset shape.
The yellow items are pattern 2225 with the plate and teacup set also featuring a pink rose design and measuring 8.25 inches wide, the saucer is 5.5 inches wide and the teacup is 3.5 inches wide and 3 inches tall.
The blue set is pattern c1436/1. It features a fine gray wheat design on the blue and has the same measurements as the yellow teacup and saucer; both cups are footed and all pieces have gilt edging.
These cups and plate were made between 1934 and 1939 and are in excellent shape. Queen Victoria commissioned Aynsley China to produce a full service for her personal use. Need I say more?
