Original hand painted landscape of the Den of Nargun in the Mitchell River National park East Gippsland. This painting was also recently varnished for extra protection and to add even store more depth to the colours. This was painted from a reference photo taken by me on a recent trip to Gippsland. This was a really peaceful and spiritual place and I wanted to recreate the feeling of the place as I experienced it. This site used to be a traditional meeting place for the local aboriginal women and had spiritual significance. They used to believe that a mythical creature called a Nargun lived under the waterfall and would take any children who ventured into the cave.
