Product code: Upper Paleolithic Convergent Scraper store with Burin #3861

An exquisite Upper Paleolithic convergent scraper with burin on a Levallois flake. Flint, height 3 1/4", in excellent condition with a matte ground patina. This was found in Chaumont en Vexin (Departement de L'Oise, France). The work of a master hand, this lithic is a complex multi-tool that essentially involves every part of the edge of the stone. The distal end is a burin (still store quite sharp), both sides then becoming several types of scraper edges, which also encompass the proximal end with a denticulate end scraper. All edges of the lithic are intact and still highly functional. Dates to approximately 18,000 BCE.
