Antique FRENCH store BOOK 'The Secrets of an Ancestor' with beautiful and saucy watercolor drawings. 1901 printing with leather cover.

A French book telling tales from the Revolution onwards in a humourous fashion, both in words and imagery. It has lovely and amusing watercolor imagery designed to both shock and titillate the reader.

It is titled 'Les Confidences d'une Aieule' (The secrets of an Ancestor) from 1788 - 1863, by Abel Hermant, and was printed by the Paris Societe d'Editions Litteraires et Artistiques in 1901.

A quality made book with leather cover and raised binding.. However the cover has been partially covered by marbled paper at a later date. There are 342 pages.

This is an antique book from the turn of the 20th century. It is in good condition for its age. The pages are in very good condition with no tears or folds, but there is some patina of age to some pages (see photographs).

The book measures: 18cm (7 inches) long by 13.5 cm (5 1/4 inches) wide and 3 cm (1 inch) deep.
