Red and gold are the most iconic colors of Royalty in the English court. This beautiful but simple gown contains both between it's two different pieces.

The first piece is store the one closest to the skin. It is the under dress that also serves as a shift dress. It is made out of 100% red cotton and all seams have been sealed off for maximum durability and longevity. The dress is a simple chemise cut where you can adjust the neckline on a drawstring while the wrists have been pleated into the fixed velvet cuff. The bottom of the dress is similarly encased in a velvet trim.

The secondary piece is the over dress and it is the most intricate. It is made out of a golden silk damask brocade with a vine like pattern. The bodice is lined with red cotton. It is also stiffened with a layer of canvas and has 8 boning strips strategically placed so that it does not buckle when completely laced up. The bodice laces up the front with hidden laces. There are for medium weight hooks and eyes to keep the laces hidden. Down the front and around the neckline of the outer dress is a maroon and black velvet trim. The outer sleeves are pleated into a puff and trimmed with the same velvet trim as the bodice. The waist of dress is knife pleated from back to front. Near the bottom of the skirt is the same maroon velvet trim that's on the bodice.

Al measurements are taken at closure. It can, of course, fit those who are smaller. If there is extra give on the body, it may reduce the measurements to fit with the bodice fully closed as well. It will even fit those who are larger than the measurements if you don't mine the laces showing through. The under dress will fit sizes much larger than the over dress.
