Antique Clinton Reading Hardware Company-RHC-Two-Way Interior store Mortise Lock and Handle Set

Beautiful antique Reading Hardware Company interior mortise lock and handle set features two sides of beautiful, decorative knobs and faceplates. Faceplates measure approximately 6 ¾” x 2 3/8” and each side has a thumb-turn lock. One is above the door knob and the opposite faceplate has a thumb-turn below the door knob. Both door knobs are sculptured in ornate detail for a gorgeous appearance.

Handle set was manufactured by Reading Hardware Company (R.H.C), which was founded in 1852. RHC was one of the leading door hardware manufacturers in the late 19th and early 20th Century. Back of each faceplate is marked “Clinton RHC” and the number “1310”. store Very unique Mortise lock with two lock bolts is designed to be locked from either side, most likely used for adjoining rooms. Faceplate is slightly bent on one end as can be seen in pictures. Normal scratches stains and oxidation are found throughout as well. This is overall a great handle set that is full of history.

This handle set would be great for a restoration project, or a collector of early hardware.
