Mid-century (mid store 1950s) Royal Paragon Sylvan ZJ482 hand-decorated gravy boat and matching, oval under-plate. Bone china made in England.
Paragon made two patterns with the Sylvan name. This is Sylvan ZJ482.
Very similar in style to Paragon Athens, Sylvan ZJ482 is now a very hard-to-find pattern featuring a wreath of gray and green ferns mixed with wisps of other botanicals and yellow flowers set against a white ground with a mint green border band, a scalloped, gold edge and a swirled body.
In EXCELLENT! condition with NO! chips, nicks, cracks, or fleabites, NO! crazing and LITTLE TO NO! loss or wear to the scalloped, gold edge. There is light yellowing to the REVERSE! of the under-plate noticeable only when this piece is over-turned. The green band, yellow florals and gray leaves are bright and vivid with NO! fading apparent.
Approximate measurements: gravy boat stands 4" (base to tip of spout).
