Leather feather hair clip barrette eagle

I make these leather feather barrette completely by hand in my small leather studio.

Feathers are an evolutionary marvel: aerodynamic, functional, beguiling.

This feather is made from italian, natural veg-tanned cowhide. The leather is carved, tooled, modeled, thinned out on the edges, painted with acrylics in white, brown and dark tones carefully and then sealed. The hairclip is riveted and not visible from the outside.
