Natural Sweet Gum Wood Staff, Walking or Hiking Stick, Trekking Pole, Walking Staff made by Kentucky Naturally. Pricing does include priority shipping.

58.5 inches in length. About 4 inches around at neck. Grown and weathered by Mother Nature then finished by me, Kentucky Johnny.

This Sweet Gum is a nice natural piece with the outer layer of bark left on store. I had some requests for a walking stick like this because of the texture of this bark. There is a faint hint of 4 twists on the staff where a honeysuckle vine had tightened slightly around it..enough to make a lasting mark to add to its natural character.

The trekking pole has various colors in the outer bark layer..different rich browns with some gray & black touches. You will see the knicks and knots of the wood along with those faint twists. Nice coloring and texture. I have added a leather strap at the neck with a handmade deer antler bead; it feels very comfortable placing your hand at the neck just under the leather strap. I have added a light finish for a little protection and shine.

I usually know just what I am going to do with a stick before I get back to the shop with it ..after spotting them on my trips in the woods, along creeks or fence rows. I found this one in a nice wooded area on a friends farm I like to walk in our neck of the woods. It definitely has a natural look. A nice medium weight. I will also include a rubber tip.

It will be nice to have on those shorter hikes or walks around your neighborhood.
