Ernie Banks was one of the most admired black professional baseball players in the history of American baseball. Popularly known as Mr Cub or Mr Sunshine, he played his entire career for the Chicago Cubs. He was a Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop and first baseman for 19 seasons, 1953-1961. Ernie passed away in 2015.
