Repurposed threads and fabric create an impressionistic view the landscape surrounding Big Sur, California with a boat in the distance.Fibers, sparky material, sheer fabrics, decorative threads and yarn add dimension.
This technique is called fabric layering. I place the backing on a table and cover it with the batting. Then I create the picture on the batting using fabric and threads, adding different layers as needed. When finished, the scene is covered with tulle and machine quilted together. The edges are zigzagged twice.
15" x 15" 38 cm x 38 cm California Gold I have won several awards for my art work.
A quilt is made up of three layers, the top, the batting in the middle and the back. A fabric tube or sleeve is hand sewn to the top back of the quilt to ease hanging. The dowel or stick is included. There is a decorative ribbon tied to each end. It can be easily hung from 2 push pins.
Keep out of direct sunlight. Shake or dust to clean.
Made in a smoke free and pet free environment.
