This necklace is an antiqued copper wrapped broken china pendant with matching 26” chain. Pottery and copper are traditional 9th wedding anniversary gifts. This is completely one of a kind necklace. It is hand wire wrapped in copper wire and hand cut and polished china. This is an up to date way to wear an antique. The copper necklace is included but I did not make it myself. The china chard was originally from a vintage china plate that had a huge crack in it. I was able to capture this centerpiece of the plate with part of its makers mark on the reverse side. That's a rare thing and I love when this happens.

It is the whole process that I love, from choosing the china, to deciding what new life the china wants to have, to breaking, shaping, smoothing, mounting, beading, and sometimes reconfiguring the whole project. YES, I DO BREAK THE CHINA. (But not if it is without flaws). I love doing this. It is exciting for me to create something people can wear and love, out of something they previously used and loved.
