This is an artisan crafted brooch made sometime in the late 1930s by the talented Mexican silversmith F.R.
It is a gorgeous piece store incorporating a circular pattern of lovely repoussé sterling silver followed by a circular pattern of snake eye turquoise. These traditional elements have been highlighted by a deep black oxidation and delicate wire work. The design is beautifully executed giving the brooch a rich southwestern feel.
The brooch is exceptionally versatile. It can be worn; at the crown of your best cowgirl hat, on the pocket of a leather vest, in your hair, clipped to a strand of petite turquoise beads, at the waist of a fit and flare dress, or on your favorite fringed handbag.
It can also be worn with all of your Native American or Southwestern jewelry designs.
Please review the photos carefully and email with any questions you may have prior to making a purchase.
Enjoy.
