Vintage store 1980s Himalaya Loden Back Belt Jacket Trachten Austrian Hunting Shooting Hebden Cord Half Belted Field Coat Sports Wool

A vintage circa 1980s Hebden Cord Co. 'Himalaya Loden' 80% wool/20% alpaca green cloth Norfolk-type hunting/shooting jacket. Cut in a traditional style which harks back to the '20s/'30s, with single breasted 3-button fastening - notched lapels - Norfolk straps to the front with flapped bellows pockets - wavy scalloped rear yoke, box pleat & centre vent - half belt at the back - body lined with quilted green nylon fabric with 1 chest & 1 ticket pocket, sleeves lined with off-white striped rayon/acetate.

All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Jacket Chest - armpit to armpit: 23" (58.4cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 17 1/2" (44.5cm)
Shoulder to cuff: 27" (68.5cm)
Armpit to cuff: 18 1/4" (46.3cm)
Waist: 21" (53.3cm)
Back length - base of collar to hem: 31 1/2" (80cm)

Condition:
In good condition overall but with some damage as follows - some loss of nap to the leading edges, high spots & around the cuffs - a hole in the left back about 1/4" diameter - some moth chews to the edge of the left pocket flap - a small hole in the front of the right sleeve at about elbow level - some white paint marks to the lining & the hem edge - wear & fraying to the lining at the top of the vent (all shown in close-ups) - the top button has been moved over. It appears this was originally a full-belted model as there are marks where the belt loops have been removed, the lining has been hand sewn at the side seam & the front straps have tunnels for a belt to go through. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing but a slightly musty storage smell remains.
