Beautiful NY state baby fawn reclining under some forsythia bushes on the edge of a sun-dappled forest glade; This wonderful oil pastel and acrylic painting is a nice size of 11 1/8" x 8 3/8" (approximate) on hot pressed bright white Strathmore paper which has a smooth finish.
I painted this painting using Sennelier Acrylique Extra Fine acrylics and Sennelier oil pastels from Paris, they are my favorite medium to use; Sennelier Oil Pastels from Paris are THE BEST in the art world. This painting is done on smooth hot press Strathmore paper. It is not mounted. It is a perfect foundation for the Sennelier Acrylique Extra Fine paint with Sennelier oil pastel used in certain areas to highlight, such as the yellow forsythia flowers, the white areas of the fawn's coat, and the branches of the forest's foliage. I particularly love how the bold strokes and the scratchy effects I use with the oil pastels show through the painting; that is my favorite way to create an oil pastel composition.
Sennelier OIL PASTELS: the name says it all- THE BEST oil pastels in the WORLD! Extremely expensive, but worth every penny.... Created in 1949 by Henri Sennelier for Pablo Picasso who was a frequent patron of his shop: he wanted an oil paint in lipstick form that he could travel with and paint on any substrate such as canvas, wood, paper metal. They move beautifully across the paper, canvas or board and are just gorgeous to look at; the color range is unsurpassed.

Beautiful AMERICAN themes and values, including love and respect for animals, NY state rural landscapes and its attributes, children in genre scenes are my forte. In fact, one of my goals with my paintings, after I am established here on Etsy is to make enough as a salary AND to donate large amounts to dedicated animal sanctuaries here in NY state, wild animal sanctuaries in PA, and other worthy dedicated animal rescue groups across the country who rescue, treat and provide no-kill sanctuaries for abused, neglected and injured animals.
