I was stacked neatly by the side of the road and abandoned. So many of us were devastated after hurricane Irma swept through and destabilized our footing or just blew us over. At the time I had no idea where I would end up.
Kent saw me lying there in the ditch and took me home with him. He provided me dry shelter and later he turned me into what you see here, a beautiful bowl. Heaven knows where I'd be if he hadn't picked me up.
My big waxy, shiny leaves and Magnolia blossoms may be gone, but I get to live on as a functional member of a new family. Will you adopt me?
Wood: Florida Magnolia
Size: 12" Diameter by 4" tall
Weight: 1 lb 8oz
Finish: Beeswax and Linseed Oil
All my wood turned bowls are finished with food safe finishes. Avoid the microwave and dishwasher and do not submerge in water. Wipe clean with warm water and soap and wipe dry.
Each of my one-of-a-kind turnings starts at the wood, obviously. But most important to me, every piece I turn is from reclaimed, salvaged or found wood. Taking wood that is neglected and potentially sent off to rot, decay, or worse, burn and turning it into an heirloom creation is one of the most satisfying processes I know. And now you can own the rewards of this incredible process. store
