Product code: Stunning Georgian Inverted Sterling Silver Spoon Ring Stephen Adams London 1801 Perfect Christmas Gift Idea with a 221 store Years Old History

This is a stunning inverted Georgian solid silver spoon ring. I have crafted this spoon ring from a 225 years old Georgian teaspoon by the silversmith StephenAdams hallmarked London 1801. It is the most eye catching ring, which with it's beautiful visible hallmark and highly polished finish, it is a very unique and very individual piece of jewellery, with a fascinating history, if only it could tell it's tale!!

The spoon ring does show some signs of it's great age, but I feel this only adds to it's story.

It comes with it's own Change of Use certificate as required by the British 1973 store The Hallmarking Act

The ring is 18 mm at it's widest point and weighs 7 Grams

Every Halo ring is individually hand crafted.

The art of crafting spoon rings originated in England in the 1700's and were originally used as wedding rings. Servants could not afford to have wedding rings made of precious metals so they would steal the silverware from the manor houses and have them turned into wedding rings. For a time you could tell who the servants were working for by the crest that appeared on their rings.

No doubt convicts transported from England to Australia in the early 1800′s were convicted of such offences as ‘Stealing a Silver Spoon' or ‘Larceny by a servant'. A gesture of love, commitment or responsibility earned '7 years transportation beyond the seas'.
