The covers of this extraordinary book appear to be brown suede (very soft with age); however, there are large areas of faded green on the covers, so it is likely that the book was originally green.
The book includes hand-illumined decorations store (examples shown) as well as handsome type and deckled pages. The book retains its ribbon marker.
The pages, for the most part, are clean; however, some shadowing is present (around the ribbon marker and opposite the illuminated images), and one of the pages is smudged (shown). The pages are secure; one appears uncut.
Overall, this is a very pretty, unusual, and collectible book.
