Suiseki is a stone found in nature that has not been altered in any way, that resembles another object or inspires thought. The art of Suiseki is found in the contemplation of the stone in its natural form. It can often depict a landscape or a figure of an animal or face. Suiseki is an abbreviation of “san-sui-kei-jyo-seki“, which was and still is highly prized practice in Japan, and now around the globe. Many stones on the market have been sanded, chizzled and modified, yet I take great care to make sure that all of the Suiseki stones that I offer are both natural and unique. Each stone offered here is hand chosen and usually found on my hikes throughtout Connecticut. I take caution not to disturb the ground as much as possible in the gathering of these meditative treasures, and I have available a wide store variety of stone types, shapes, sizes and textures.
