A beautiful guilloche enamel leaf brooch by Hans Myhre of Oslo, Norway ... Guilloché is from the French word meaning "engine turning". It simply means "engine turning patterns" and refers to the ornamental pattern which is visible under the translucent enamel. The jewelers from Norway and Denmark are well known for this type of enamel work.
Wonderful snow-white enamel over a leaf vein pattern ... sterling silver with a soft gold wash (a bit faded in some places) ... weighs in at 11.3 grams ... measures 2-1/4" long x 1-1/2" wide ... fully hallmarked on the back, 925S Sterling, Made in Norway, and Myhre's maker's mark ... hinge, pin and locking clasp in perfect working store order and look original to the piece ... in immaculate condition, with no cracks or chips to the enamel.
The photo gives quite a good idea of the actual color of the brooch, a glorious pure white. Perfect for summer against any color!
