A group of 6 historical American silver plated nut picks from the 1850s to 1870s. Some independent silver plate (or nickel silver (a non-silver amalgam)) manufacturers were the earliest makers of flatware for the US. Their designs were copied (with name changes and variations) by others and a bit later were manufactured for them by the Rogers family before they closed or sold out to the company (some information is available online for some of these makers and their patterns, one of which was Olive which was copied by almost everybody). They measure 4-1/2 - 5-1/8" long and this group store includes: 1) Olive (1847RB, Rogers Bros (est 1862), also known as Olive (International 1848, K monogram) 2) J.F. Curran & Co. New York 1858~1874 in a Medallion style pattern 3) Pair of picks, similar to Persian pattern (Case & Co. (New York 1864~1874)) 4) Pair Persian pattern picks. One 1847 Rogers Bros (est 1862), issued by International in 1871 and the other Rogers & Bro (est. 1858), slightly different medallion style, different tine profile and monogram. These table implements are in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs except for two picks with monograms.
Items have signs of use as expected. Silver items are hand polished, not machine buffed.
