This is a listing for a set of Four (4) store Salad Plates. A Rarely seen Heisey pattern listed in the encyclopedia of Heisey Glass as pattern #1239 under the name Kathie (given by researchers) LIttle is know about these gorgeous Clear Octagon shaped plates produced about 1925. A very limited trial pattern that has for the most part disappeared. Each plate is marked with the “H” in a diamond which is the makers mark. These have a ground and polished round bottom leading to a slightly bowl effect. The raised octagon boarders are framed with raised ribs from underneath. From point to point the width is 8 7/8” from edge to edge they are 8 1/4” from surface to edge of plate is 3/4” That being said I would call these salad, luncheon or dessert plates. They are in remarkable condition no chips or nicks. As with any glass from this time period and use through the years when held to the light you will see utensil scratches.
