This is a very rare antique sterling silver spoon from California dating back to around 1897 featuring on the top of the handle figural grizzly bear (symbol of California) and a shield with letters “CE” for Christian Endeavor “CALIFORNIA 97” then a stunning figural redwood tree down the handle. In the gold finished bowl it has embossed a flag with grizzly bear “CALIFORNIA 97” and CE. Christian Endeavor group was organized on February 2, 1881. The back is marked W.C. FINCK 925/1000 store STERLING Measures 4-1/8” and it is in excellent condition. Please use the photos provided as sources for description.
