This pendant features a raw Ethiopian golden opal. The stone measures 1.02 x 0.63 inches (25.9 x 15.9 mm) and weighs in at 10 carats.

The deposit of opal in Welo Province, Ethiopia (also anglicized Wello and Wollo) has produced some truly spectacular stones. One thing that I like about this find is how unique each stone is. Fire, patterning and body color all vary store quite a bit, giving each stone its own personality.

This stone is a really nice and unusual stone. Most of the stone shows a very diffuse green fire, with a rich orange center. Scattered throughout are flakes of brilliant rainbow fire which sparkle within the milky glowing base. I haven't seen another one quite like it.
