Antique decorative enamel porcelain Japanese Enamel Paradise , hand painted in brilliant enamel colors. The lovely natural interpretation of 'paradise' full of flowers with colorful birds perched in a flowering cherry tree is so restful yet cheerful. The royal blue field makes all of the other colors pop! It has the feel of majolica ware and it is truly breathtaking. A bright yellow band with flowers and scroll clouds rims both the inside and the outside of the bowl. All of these elements are classic Asian symbols of happiness, prosperity, and longevity. The peony flower is esteemed as one of the most exquisite flowers, a symbol for nobility and value. The peony became popular in the imperial palaces during the Sui and Tang dynasties, and earned the title of the 'king of flowers.'

This is a gorgeous and eye catching piece of art is from 1912 Asian paradise plate with classic symbolic cherry blossoms, noble peony flowers, and exquisite long tailed pheasant birds in brilliant majolica colors! The overall design is very strong and the original enamel paint is intact.
