“I have no desire
I can't feel a thing
I just want to make him happy
Daddy's little girl
Daddy's little girl
Daddy's little store girl don't wanna be
His whore no more”
— Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill), “Daddy's Li'l Girl,” 1991
An original 16 in. x 12 in. mixed media painting created in 2019. Made using acrylic, gouache, ink, and paper on wood panel.
This piece addresses issues regarding the predation and exploitation of young girls that is, unfortunately, so prevalent in our culture.
Due to the nature of this piece, a portion (70%) of the proceeds from each sticker sold will be donated equally between national and local organizations. Charities for this piece include RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, and BrightHouse, a local Midwestern organization in my hometown that helps survivors who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through services such as a crisis line, emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, and links to community resources.
This painting includes hanging wire already installed on the back, so it is ready to hang right out of the box!
