Kintsugi ("golden joinery" ) is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics, embracing their flaws and highlighting imperfection. Using golden resin, Kintsugi artists highlight the object's cracks and imperfections and honor its history; transforming a once-broken piece into something new: a totally unique, priceless piece of art. It is also known as Kintsukuroi ("golden repair").

The Kintsugi philosophy is similar to wabi sabi and mono no aware: Zen states of mind that accept that the world is full of imperfection. Kintsugi is the process of respecting, embracing, and celebrating an object's history, despite its modern-world flaws.

This unique, one-of-a-kind piece has been created using the Kintsugi crack method. This art piece will never be replicated.

Kintsugi objects should NOT be used for food, in a store dishwasher, or microwave. It is recommended that vases are used for faux floral arrangements only. Our studio does NOT use Japanese urushi resin due to the potential of allergic reactions.
