Vintage (70s) Laurids Lonborg RED Melamine "Onion" COASTER SET / Excellent Condition / Iconic Scandinavian Design / Rare store Collectible / Cool!

How retro cool (and retro fabulous) is this bright Red Coaster Set? Very retro cool - and very retro fabulous!

Designed in the 70s by Danish artist, Laurids Lonborg, and manufactured by Artipresent, this fabulous Set of Drink Coasters contained in a teardrop shaped two-piece holder was dubbed the "Onion" back in the day. The bright red plastic container and the six bright red circular Coasters are all in very good condition, although one Coaster does have a slight chip on its rim and another has one small, barely noticeable scratch mark (see last listing photo). These Coasters (and their cooler than cool Container) were obviously well-loved and well-cared for.

The Onion container measures 4-3/4" tall and 4" across. Each of the 6 coasters measure 3-1/8" in diameter.

Used as a ultra fab Coaster Set on your retro styled Bar Cart, as a cool container for office supplies on your retro desk or as a trinket or jewelry holder on your Mid Century Modern dresser, this piece is as store multi-functional as it is gorgeous - and a rare (and highly sought after) find for the 70s vintage collector in your life!
