Japanese store green enameled bronze, bird shaped trinket box; red glass eyes, bird foot hallmark; 3 1/4 inches high

A green enameled bronze trinket box in the shape of a bird. It has applied red glass eyes and a gilt interior. The box was made in Japan in the 20th century. It measures 3 1/4 H x 5 7/8 W x 4 D inches. The box bottom has incised bird feet as a hallmark. The bottom of the lid tail is marked "Japan."

CONDITION: store Very good. The interior gilt is scratched and worn. Some wear to the enamel on the bird's beak tip and its head.
