Original green cloth with black spine lettering, frontispiece and 156 pp. In good condition with no foxing, and minimal browning. Dust-jacket in good condition with some shelf wear at edges.
The Story:
This is the sequel to Black Wing and is about Volka, a young Royal Air Force cadet hero, who has an atomic powered flying suit. Once more there is a dangerous mission for him to undertake, this time under the direction of the Chief of Air Intelligence. A famous scientist, who has been engaged in top-secret work connected with the development of atomic energy, has mysteriously disappeared and is thought to have been kidnapped by a foreign power wishing to gain the knowledge which only he possesses. Volka's search for the scientist leads him, at high speed, from one great hazard to another.

UK author, mostly of fiction for boys under his own and several other names, including John Beresford, Frank Chaltam, Barton Furse, Jeffrey Gaunt, Eric Roche and Hamilton Smith. George E Rochester was a contemporary of author W E Johns, well known in the 1930s for his flying stories, often SF-themed.
