This is regular polish not gel.This is our newest Pastel Oil Slick Collection full set of six. These are a bit different than what we expect from typical multi chromes. I've listed some of the differences below. I like very thin coats, so three is my magic number. The first will be super shear! The second builds really beautifully! Third a great thin finish! If you don't like very thin coats, then two regular will give you full opacity as well. That is what most of the swatches reported to me. Finally, my quick dry formula is still in pay with these! No trips to polish mountain, and they are quick dry! What else could you want?;)

The main differences between the original Slicks and these pastels is that the main color changes, with multi chromes we are use to, they don't. The shifts change, but the main color always remains. Here the main color also changes. So you will see multiple changes though out the spectrum. So if you get this polish and it doesn't quite look like you store thought it would... Well, you just haven't stumbled into the right light yet. Now to explain the categories, The primary color is the center color that all the shifts dance around. Secondary show easily in the shade, or indoors moving you nails side to side. (The easy to see shifts, I call them.) The Tertiary, these are my hidden gems! Those for me show in my car. Something about the light coming through the windshield makes those show every time! You'll see them at other times, but that's just a constant for me. Because these are the first ever pastel multi chromes theres a lot thats new. Every single one of these polishes, I used one color as the main color to bounce the shifts off of. Then I used 8-15 colors in creating the shifts.

Some extra information on the pastels...

Firstly, the shimmer in them are more pronounced. The darkness hides it well in the original Oil Slicks, the light pastels put it on display! However, luckily it doesn't show streaks. They seem to fall in place before it drys, so bonus!

Secondly, there's additional shift colors. We are all use to the normal shift colors, (blues, greens, purples, gold) they're basic for any multichome. However, with creating pastels it seems grey and nude have been added to the shift pallet. I won't lie, and say I know how or why, I don't! However, I like them so I ain't worried. They are pastel so they don't ruin the lightness of the pastel look. Just something else new!

Third, the opacity is only visible when it's dry. What I mean is, only in the dry state will you really be able to judge the opacity and decide if you want to add an additional coat.

Fourth, the shifts are not as impressive till it drys. Again, the polish has to settle into place. So please don't judge till you've lived in them a bit..

Fifth, they seem to be darker in direct light. Still pastels, but a darker version. Which is the opposite from the original slicks. For instance, the cantaloupe color is just that in indirect light with a heavy green and gold secondary shifts. However, in direct light it's pumpkin with a heavy grey secondary shift... The cantaloupe also changes to a light copper color in dusk lighting. It seems that because they are so light in color, there's more changes.... or maybe the changes are just more visible now. Who knows... They will keep you staring at your nails wondering what's next.
