Vintage Early XXth Century Vacuum Oil Company Light Green Glass Kerosene Lamp
Vacuum Oil Company was the first oil company to operate in Portugal, its operation started in 1896. Marketing of kerosene has began in the first years of the XXth century under the famous brand Sunflower Kerosene (Petróleo Sunflower). It was the industry market leader until the forties of the last century.
Kerosene lamps were very common during first half of XXth century, when electricity distribution was not widespread to the countryside. There are some models of these store lamps, however colored glass lamps are scarce, particularly this beautiful light green color. This lamp is very simple, made of green glass with sunflower pattern and the font is octagonal. There are little sunflowers on each side of the font and also the Vacuum Oil Company logo on the top.
Condition: In superb condition. As good as new. No chips, cracks, wearing stains or hairlines.
