These pasta bowls are wheel thrown in a speckled brown stoneware clay and glazed in castille blue glaze. The color is a glossy light blue, and I've heavily dipped the rims in sea mist for a nice accent of green. The glazes break on the rim, giving a darker contrast to the lighter colors below. The sea mist melts down the side of the bowl, store and the edge where it stops has almost a peachy tinge. The overall effect is one of tropical waters. Each side of each bowl has a different amount of overlap and melt of the two glazes, and you will want to keep turning them around and around to see the variance and color difference.
The bowls are 7 3/8 inches wide and 2 1/8 inches tall.
I designed them to be used for large dinner salads or pasta dishes. Can't you just see them filled with linguine and clam sauce or grilled chicken Caesar salad? They are also a good shape and size for your favorite pho ramen recipe.
Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln. Food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
I have many matching pieces in this glaze in my shop: soup bowls, prep bowls, spoon rests, and mugs. Please check out my shop here:
