This is an exquisite example of the work of master potter John Robert Hunter.
Made in Nambia in support of Teachers for Africa, I found this description of John on the web:

"Serving in Namibia, John Hunter brings a powerful message of hope and how he helps make a change, one pot at a time.
John Hunter has been in international missions with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) for 45 years. His scope of ministry experience is wide. Currently he and his wife, Suzanne, live in Windhoek, Namibia. The Hunters established and direct the “Foundation for African Christian Education” and “Teachers for Africa.”

This pitcher is signed by Hunter and still has the original tag.
It is in mint condition with gorgeous purple and teal store glazed top and a natural clay body.
John contacted me and gave me this information on this piece: "It was woodfired here in Windhoek. The glaze is called Oribe. The brushwork is called Sumi-é."
He said he made it in 2003.
Standing 9" tall and 6" diameter from handle to spout and 3.5" diameter at the base.
