Rare Vintage Teapot, Nautical Memorabilia, Thomas Brocklebank, Shipping Crest, David Mellor, store Fanfare Pattern, Silver Plate, Iconic Design
On offer is this lovely vintage historical teapot. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable dings/ shallow dents around the base area edge store as well as extensive scuffing and scratching all over commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.
It's of traditional form, plain in design yet so stylish in appearance. One side has been decorated with a nautical badge/ crest for the Thomas Brocklebank Shipping Company and would've been used on-board to serve tea.
The original black nylon handle and lid finial are present still and in good order - there is a hairline to the handle however around the top join.
The interior has notably darkened with tea-staining and extensive ware.
Marked on the underside for Walker and Hall of Sheffield. The design of the teapot was created by David Mellor and the pattern name is "Fanfare", circa 1960's.
It measures 19.5cm (7 and 3/4 inches) handle to spout end and 12.7cm (5 inches) in total height. The base is also marked with a capacity of "1 PT" (pint).
A lovely historical teapot which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
