This print is of the HOTEL sign over Fairplay, Colorado. These are the five giant letters on the roof of the historic (and haunted) Hand Hotel, rendered in white ink on black paper. It is printed from a Solarplate polymer etching plate based on an original photograph by the artist.
The ink is custom mixed white with the slightest touch of blue (almost a sea-foam blue) that interacts with the black paper to create a vivid print.
This print is one in an edition of three, produced in 2016. The image is approximately 8" by 6," printed on 15" by 11" Arches black paper. These are archival-quality paper and inks, and if displayed or stored properly this print will last hundreds of years. The print is finished with a grey and black double mat to a standard size of 18" x 14" to fit pre-made frames. It is shipped bagged with store a foam board backing.
