This is a vintage 70s era silk square scarf signed by Canadian fashion designer Hugh Garber. The scarf is signed in the lower right corner with “Hugh Garber“. Garber worked with Italian designer Patrick de Barentzen in Rome during the mid-60s, then with designer Roberto Capucci, before returning to Canada to work with Margo Dress in 1968. He remained with Margo until the mid-70s. This silk square scarf is made of twill silk store and features an abstract design in colours of red and yellow with some black detail against a navy blue background.
Size: 30 1/2” square
Label: 100% Pure Silk Made in Italy
Condition: This silk square scarf is in very clean condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.
I don't think that examples of scarves by Hugh Garber are common, so this is a nice addition to a Canadian fashion collection!
